| 背景信息 | HECT domain-containing protein 2 (HECTD2) is a crucial E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays a central role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system. This 776-amino acid protein consists of an N-terminal domain that binds to substrates and a C-terminal HECT domain that directly transfers ubiquitin to target proteins, marking them for degradation by the proteasome. HECTD2 is primarily localized in the cytosol and is involved in various cellular processes, including protein ubiquitination and immune responses. The HECT domain, found in all eukaryotes, is crucial for the enzyme's catalytic activity in the ubiquitin-proteasome system. Mutations or dysregulation of HECTD2 may contribute to the development of brain compression, colorectal cancer, and other disorders by altering protein homeostasis and cellular function. |
