背景信息 Cbl proto-oncogene like 2 (CBLL2), also known as ZNF645, is a zinc finger protein characterized by the presence of both RING-type and C2H2-type zinc finger domains. It functions as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, utilizing a specialized phosphotyrosine-binding domain to target E-cadherin for ubiquitin-mediated degradation. This activity is a critical regulator of cell-cell adhesion and is implicated in the epithelial-mesenchymal transition, a process essential for tissue remodeling and cellular migration. CBLL2 is also expressed during human sperm production, suggesting a role in reproductive biology and quality control. By modulating the stability of adhesion molecules like E-cadherin, CBLL2 serves as a molecular switch that can influence cellular architecture and signaling pathways associated with both normal development and the disruption of epithelial integrity.
