| 背景信息 | CBY1 interacting BAR domain containing 1 (CIBAR1) is a membrane-associated protein featuring a BAR domain that binds phospholipids to sense and stabilize membrane curvature. It localizes to ciliary and flagellar structures, where it cooperates with the basal-body protein CBY1 and related Cby proteins to regulate ciliogenesis and inner mitochondrial membrane organization. CIBAR1 is essential for the proper positioning of the annulus, a septin-based ring that separates the sperm midpiece from the principal piece, thereby maintaining the membrane diffusion barrier. Loss of CIBAR1 function leads to structural defects in sperm flagella, resulting in impaired motility and male subfertility or infertility. Beyond its role in spermatogenesis, CIBAR1 is involved in limb morphogenesis and other developmental processes, suggesting that its perturbation may contribute to ciliopathy-like phenotypes. |
