| 背景信息 | Gamma-secretase-activating protein (GSAP), also known as PION, is a protein that enhances the production of amyloid-beta (Aβ) by facilitating the interaction between the γ-secretase complex and its substrate, the amyloid precursor protein (APP). Characterized by its ability to bind both γ-secretase and APP, GSAP increases the efficiency of Aβ generation, which is a key factor in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Dysregulation of GSAP has been linked to neurodegenerative diseases, particularly AD, where elevated levels of Aβ contribute to plaque formation and neuronal toxicity. Additionally, GSAP may play a role in other conditions such as pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 3, highlighting its involvement in neurodevelopmental processes. |
