| 背景信息 | WD repeat domain 91 (WDR91) is a cytosolic and endosomal protein that functions as a negative regulator of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) activity. By interacting with BECN1 and Rab7, it modulates endosomal phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate levels, thereby controlling endosome fusion, sorting, and maturation. WDR91 is critical for the trafficking of cargo to lysosomes for degradation. Its WD40 domain facilitates selective interactions with Rab7, coordinating the transition from early to late endosomes. While direct monogenic disease associations are not fully established, WDR91's regulatory role in the endocytic pathway suggests its involvement in cellular homeostasis and potentially lysosomal trafficking disorders. |
