| 背景信息 | TRPC5 opposite strand (TRPC5OS) is a primate-specific long noncoding RNA that encodes a small, functional intracellular microprotein. While showing restricted expression in normal brain tissue, TRPC5OS acts as an oncogenic factor in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Mechanistically, the encoded microprotein interacts directly with the glycolytic enzyme alpha-enolase (ENO1), increasing its stability and protein levels. This upregulation enhances glycolysis, cell proliferation, and migration, driving tumor growth and colony formation. The TRPC5OS-ENO1 axis represents a specific metabolic vulnerability and potential therapeutic target in aggressive breast cancers. |
