| 背景信息 | Von Willebrand factor C domain containing 2 like (VWC2L) is a secreted, cysteine-rich glycoprotein characterized by von Willebrand factor C (VWC) domains. It localizes to the extracellular region, synapses, and the AMPA glutamate receptor complex, where it functions as a modulator of developmental signaling pathways. VWC2L negatively regulates bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) signaling and influences the TGF-beta superfamily to promote bone differentiation and matrix mineralization through the osteoblast transcription factor Osterix. Additionally, it is predicted to facilitate neuron differentiation and neurogenesis. Clinically, VWC2L is associated with skeletal disorders such as tarsal-carpal coalition syndrome and sclerosteosis 1, highlighting its critical role in bone patterning and the maintenance of bone mass. |
