| 背景信息 | Sin3A associated protein 18 (SAP18) is a highly conserved 18 kDa protein that serves as a key component of the SIN3 histone deacetylase (HDAC) complex. It enhances transcriptional repression by stabilizing the interaction between the SIN3 scaffold and HDAC1/2, thereby regulating genes involved in embryonic development and stress responses. Beyond its role in chromatin modification, SAP18 acts as an auxiliary factor in the exon junction complex (EJC) and the ASAP/PSAP complexes, where it modulates alternative splicing and suppresses cryptic splice sites. It exhibits sequence-independent RNA binding activity and is involved in the regulation of proapoptotic isoforms. SAP18 is expressed across various tissues and is essential for maintaining transcriptional fidelity. Recent research also indicates its involvement in the regulation of HIV-1 replication and its potential as a therapeutic target in myeloid malignancies. |
