| 背景信息 | Podocalyxin like (PODXL) is a transmembrane sialomucin glycoprotein highly expressed on the apical surface of glomerular podocytes. Its extensive glycosylation and sialylation provide a strong negative charge that maintains the filtration slits open via electrostatic repulsion, which is essential for kidney function. Beyond the kidney, PODXL is expressed in vascular endothelium and hematopoietic stem cells, regulating cell adhesion and morphology. In pathology, PODXL acts as a promoter of tumor progression; its overexpression in carcinomas enhances cell motility, invasion, and metastasis by decreasing cell-cell adhesion. Conversely, its downregulation or loss in the kidney disrupts the filtration barrier, leading to proteinuria and glomerular disease. |
