| 背景信息 | Meis homeobox 2 (MEIS2) is a TALE-class homeodomain transcription factor that functions as a critical DNA-binding cofactor for HOX and PBX proteins. It stabilizes transcriptional complexes to regulate gene expression essential for the development of the brain, heart, limbs, and pancreas. Isoform-specific activities include modulating pancreatic acinar transcription and myeloid differentiation. Pathogenic loss-of-function variants in MEIS2 cause an autosomal dominant syndrome characterized by cleft palate, congenital cardiac defects, and intellectual disability. In oncology, MEIS2 supports cell survival and proliferation in neuroblastoma and acute myeloid leukemia, where its inhibition induces apoptosis, marking it as a potential therapeutic target. |
