| 背景信息 | LSM1 homolog, mRNA degradation associated (LSM1) is an RNA-binding protein of the LSm family that forms a heptameric complex (LSm1-7) essential for mRNA turnover. The complex specifically binds to the 3'-terminal oligouridylate tracts of target mRNAs, initiating decapping and subsequent degradation. LSM1 is particularly critical for the degradation of histone mRNAs and the maintenance of mRNA stability in response to cellular cues. Dysregulated expression of LSM1 contributes to oncogenesis; it is frequently amplified or overexpressed in breast and lung cancers, where it promotes cellular transformation and progression. Additionally, genetic associations link LSM1 to pancreatic endocrine tumors. |
