| 背景信息 | Trinucleotide repeat containing 18 (TNRC18) is a protein encoded by the TNRC18 gene in humans. The protein has a length of 2968 amino acids, with a predicted molecular weight of 315 kDa. It contains a Bromo Adjacent Homology (BAH) domain, which is often found in chromatin-associated proteins and assists in gene silencing. TNRC18 is predicted to enable chromatin binding activity and is located in the cytosol, mitochondrion, and nucleus. The gene is ubiquitously expressed, with prominent expression in the colon, kidney, prostate, brain, endocrine tissue, and muscle tissue. Diseases associated with TNRC18 include Fazio-Londe Disease and Nephrogenic Adenoma of the Urinary Bladder. The protein has various post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation, sumoylation, palmitoylation, methylation, and glycation sites. |
