| 背景信息 | BCL2 interacting protein 3 like (BNIP3L) is a mitochondrial protein that contains a BH3 domain and acts as a pro-apoptotic factor. It interacts with anti-apoptotic proteins, including BCL2, and plays a crucial role in mitochondrial quality control and clearance during erythroid development. BNIP3L, along with BNIP3, mediates mitochondrial clearance by opening a pore in the mitochondrial double membrane, allowing for the translocation of lysosomal proteins from the cytoplasm to the mitochondrial matrix. This process is essential for maintaining mitochondrial integrity and preventing cellular damage. BNIP3L is associated with diseases such as hereditary leiomyomatosis and renal cell cancer, and its dysregulation can lead to various pathological conditions. The protein's interaction with necroptosis-associated kinase RIPK3 also suggests a role in necroptosis, a form of programmed cell death. |
