| 背景信息 | Immunoglobulin superfamily member 3 (IGSF3) is a membrane protein encoded by the IGSF3 gene located on chromosome 1p13.1, characterized by multiple V-type immunoglobulin-like domains, making it part of the immunoglobulin superfamily involved in cell adhesion and receptor signaling. It is highly expressed in various human tissues, notably placenta, kidney, and lungs, and plays roles in cell adhesion, neural crest cell migration, and enteric nervous system development, as evidenced by knockout mouse models showing its necessity for proper small intestine development and neural crest cell migration. Structurally, IGSF3 is similar to leukocyte surface proteins and is implicated in axonal growth and branching in the cerebellum. Functionally, IGSF3 acts as a tumor promoter in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by activating the NF-κB signaling pathway, enhancing cancer cell growth and invasion. Additionally, IGSF3-related dysfunction can contribute to tear production imbalance and recurrent infections in infants. |
