| 背景信息 | Ubiquitin protein ligase E3 component n-recognin 5 (EDD) is a multifaceted E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in the regulation of the cell cycle, DNA damage response, and genomic stability. It functions as a coactivator for the progesterone receptor and participates in signaling pathways that respond to DNA damage. EDD also interacts with viral proteins, such as Human Herpesvirus-6 U14, to induce cell-cycle arrest in the G2/M phase. Clinically, EDD serves as a significant prognostic biomarker in various cancers, where its elevated expression is strongly associated with increased disease recurrence and adverse clinical outcomes. Due to its central role in maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating proteasomal degradation, dysregulation of EDD is closely linked to the progression and severity of malignant diseases. |
