| 背景信息 | Centrosomal protein 43 (CEP43) is a hydrophilic protein essential for anchoring microtubules to centrosomes and facilitating the process of ciliation. It forms a structural alpha-helical bundle that supports the organization of the microtubule network during the mitotic cell cycle. Clinically, CEP43 is well-known for its involvement in a specific chromosomal translocation, t(6;8)(q27;p11), which fuses its N-terminal region to the catalytic domain of FGFR1. This fusion protein acts as a constitutive tyrosine kinase, driving the development of myeloproliferative disorders. Additionally, alterations in CEP43 have been linked to various autoimmune conditions, including Crohn's disease, Graves' disease, and vitiligo. Formerly known as FGFR1OP, the protein exhibits tissue-specific expression and alternative splicing, reflecting its diverse roles in both normal cellular architecture and the pathogenesis of hematologic and autoimmune diseases. |
