| 背景信息 | Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a large glycoprotein produced by thyroid follicular cells and stored in the thyroid gland's follicular colloid. Its primary functions are iodide storage and thyroid hormone synthesis. Tg consists of repeating domains, and many tyrosyl residues in these domains become iodinated to form monoiodo- and diiodotyrosine, which are then coupled to produce the thyroid hormones T4 and T3. Elevated circulating levels of Tg can be found in various thyroid conditions, including Hashimoto's disease, Graves' disease, thyroid adenoma, subacute thyroiditis, and thyroid carcinoma. In patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma who have undergone thyroidectomy, serum Tg levels are monitored to detect disease recurrence or metastases. Following successful removal of the thyroid gland, Tg levels should be undetectable. However, benign elevations of Tg can also occur in conditions like Graves' disease, Hashimoto's disease, and thyroid adenomas. |
