| 背景信息 | C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 10 (CXCL10) is an 8.7 kDa protein encoded by the CXCL10 gene. It belongs to the CXC chemokine family and is secreted by various cell types, including monocytes, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts, in response to IFN-γ. CXCL10 plays multiple roles, such as chemoattracting monocytes/macrophages, T cells, NK cells, and dendritic cells, promoting T cell adhesion to endothelial cells, and exhibiting antitumor activity and inhibition of angiogenesis. It elicits its effects by binding to the chemokine receptor CXCR3. Elevated baseline pre-treatment plasma levels of CXCL10 are associated with poor response to antiviral therapy in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, and it has been identified as a biomarker for heart failure and left ventricular dysfunction. Additionally, CXCL10 is involved in host defense mechanisms against certain intracellular pathogens like Leishmania major. |
