| 背景信息 | CSF2, also known as granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), is a cytokine that functions as a white blood cell growth factor. It stimulates the stem cells to produce granulocytes (neutrophils, eosinophils, and basophils) and monocytes. GM-CSF has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. It plays a central role in regulating inflammatory responses, including promoting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and activating myeloid cells like macrophages and dendritic cells. Elevated GM-CSF levels have been observed in conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma, and COVID-19. Blocking GM-CSF or its receptor has shown therapeutic potential in preclinical and clinical studies for these inflammatory disorders. Overall, GM-CSF appears to be a key mediator linking T cell responses to myeloid cell-driven tissue damage in chronic inflammatory diseases. |
