| 背景信息 | Keratin 1 (Cytokeratin-1) is a type II alpha-keratin and a major structural component of the keratinocyte cytoskeleton in the human epidermis. It is primarily expressed in the suprabasal layers, where it partners with keratin 10 to form heterodimeric coiled-coil structures. These dimers assemble into intermediate filaments that provide essential mechanical support and structural integrity to epithelial tissues. The expression of Keratin 1 is a hallmark of postmitotic terminal differentiation in keratinocytes. Mutations in the KRT1 gene are well-established causes of epidermolytic ichthyosis and ichthyosis vulgaris. These conditions are characterized by a compromised skin barrier, defective keratinocyte differentiation, and clinical symptoms such as scaling, erythema, and increased transepidermal water loss. |
