| 背景信息 | S100 calcium binding protein A9 (S100 alpha9), or MRP14, is a pro-inflammatory protein of the S100 family predominantly expressed in neutrophils and monocytes. It frequently heterodimerizes with S100A8 to form calprotectin, playing key roles in cytoskeletal dynamics and arachidonic acid metabolism. Extracellularly, S100A9 acts as a danger-associated molecular pattern (DAMP), binding TLR4 and RAGE receptors to activate NF-κB signaling and amplify immune responses. It also exhibits antimicrobial properties via metal sequestration. Elevated S100A9 levels are a hallmark of chronic inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease, and contribute to tumor progression by fostering an immunosuppressive microenvironment. |
