| 背景信息 | CD28 molecule (CD28) is a crucial costimulatory protein expressed on T cells, essential for their activation, proliferation, and survival. It functions by binding to ligands CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) on antigen-presenting cells, which enhances T cell responses, including cytokine production such as IL-2 and IL-6. Structurally, CD28 is a glycosylated homodimer consisting of 220 amino acids with immunoglobulin-like domains that facilitate its interactions with ligands. Dysregulation or loss of CD28 expression is associated with various diseases, including autoimmune conditions like Autoimmune Lymphoproliferative Syndrome and common variable immunodeficiency, where T cell responses are impaired or aberrant. Additionally, therapeutic strategies targeting CD28 are being explored for treating autoimmune diseases and enhancing immunotherapy efficacy in cancers. |
