| 背景信息 | Spectrin beta, erythrocytic (SPTB) encodes the beta-subunit of spectrin, a major component of the red blood cell membrane skeleton. It forms heterodimers with alpha-spectrin to create a lattice that anchors to the plasma membrane via interactions with ankyrin, actin, and protein 4.1. This cytoskeletal network is critical for maintaining the biconcave shape, deformability, and mechanical stability of erythrocytes. Pathogenic variants in SPTB disrupt membrane integrity, leading to hereditary spherocytosis type 2, hereditary elliptocytosis, and neonatal hemolytic anemia. These conditions are characterized by increased red cell fragility, hemolysis, jaundice, and splenomegaly. |
