| 背景信息 | Cellular communication network factor 2 (CCN2), also known as connective tissue growth factor, is a secreted matricellular protein that plays a central role in skeletal development, wound repair, and angiogenesis. It contains four conserved cysteine-rich modules that facilitate interactions with integrins, heparan sulfate proteoglycans, and growth factors such as VEGF and TGF-beta. CCN2 acts as a potent mitogen for connective tissue and promotes the proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes. Pathologically, CCN2 is a primary mediator of fibrosis and is significantly overexpressed in chronic diseases of the kidney, liver, lung, and skin. It is also implicated in the progression of diabetic nephropathy, retinopathy, and various cancers, making it a key therapeutic target in clinical trials for fibrotic and vascular disorders. |
