| 背景信息 | Mtr4 exosome RNA helicase (MTREX) is an ATP-dependent RNA helicase that catalyzes the unwinding of RNA duplexes to facilitate exosomal degradation. It serves as a central subunit in several nuclear complexes, including the nuclear exosome targeting (NEXT) and poly(A) tail exosome targeting (PAXT) complexes, which direct aberrant and non-coding RNAs for processing. MTREX is localized in the nucleoplasm and nuclear exosome, where it plays a fundamental role in RNA surveillance, 5.8S rRNA maturation, and the DNA damage response. Clinically, mutations in MTREX are linked to Trichohepatoenteric Syndrome, and the protein serves as a biomarker for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. It is also implicated in the regulation of cell cycle genes during the progression of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. |
