| 背景信息 | Prolylcarboxypeptidase (PRCP) is a highly conserved lysosomal serine protease that regulates physiological processes by cleaving C-terminal amino acids linked to penultimate proline residues. It acts on several bioactive peptides, including angiotensin II and III to produce Ang-(1-7), as well as alpha-MSH, des-Arg9-bradykinin, and prekallikrein. Through these interactions, PRCP influences vascular homeostasis, blood pressure regulation, and energy balance. In the hypothalamus, PRCP inactivates alpha-MSH, thereby promoting food intake and weight gain. Cardiovascularly, it supports vasodilation and protects against vascular dysfunction. Clinically, PRCP is linked to metabolic and cardiovascular disorders; its deficiency is associated with resistance to diet-induced obesity, while genetic polymorphisms are linked to hypertension and preeclampsia. Furthermore, PRCP plays a role in protecting against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. |
