| 背景信息 | Placental growth factor (PGF) is a member of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family, primarily involved in angiogenesis and vasculogenesis during embryonic development. PGF is predominantly produced by placental trophoblast cells, facilitating proper blood vessel formation to support fetal growth. It is also expressed in various tissues, including the heart, lungs, and skeletal muscle, albeit at lower levels. Dysregulation of PGF has been linked to several diseases, particularly preeclampsia, where altered serum levels of PGF and soluble fms-like tyrosine kinase-1 (sFlt-1) are observed, indicating potential placental insufficiency. Additionally, PGF is associated with atherosclerosis, contributing to plaque inflammation and neovascularization, which can lead to cardiovascular complications. |
