| 背景信息 | Ephrin A4 (EFNA4) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored ligand for Eph receptors, belonging to the ephrin family. It is a 17.5 kDa protein that migrates to 18-25 kDa due to glycosylation. EFNA4 binds to multiple EphA receptors, including EphA2, EphA3, EphA4, EphA5, EphA6, EphA7, and EphB1. The protein plays crucial roles in cell migration, repulsion, and adhesion during development, particularly in the nervous system and erythropoiesis. EFNA4 is expressed in various tissues and has been implicated in cancer progression. In hepatocellular carcinoma, EFNA4 suppression inhibits cell proliferation, invasion, and angiogenesis by downregulating PYGO2. Additionally, EFNA4-EphA10 signaling promotes cell migration and spheroid formation in oral squamous cell carcinoma by upregulating NANOG expression. EFNA4 has also been associated with craniofrontonasal syndrome and craniosynostosis. |
