| 背景信息 | Prokineticin 1 (PROK1), also known as Endocrine Gland-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (EG-VEGF), is a small peptide hormone primarily expressed in steroidogenic endocrine organs such as the ovary, testis, adrenal glands, and placenta. It features a conserved N-terminal hexapeptide sequence (AVITGA) and ten cysteine residues forming five disulfide bridges, essential for its bioactivity. PROK1 induces proliferation, migration, and fenestration of capillary endothelial cells in endocrine tissues, playing a key role in angiogenesis under hypoxic conditions. It binds to G-protein-coupled receptors PROKR1 and PROKR2 with high affinity, mediating diverse physiological functions including gastrointestinal motility, reproduction, and vascular development. Dysregulation of PROK1 signaling has been implicated in diseases such as cancer and ischemia. |
