| 背景信息 | Defensin alpha 1B (DEFA1B), or HNP-1, is a potent antimicrobial peptide abundant in neutrophil granules and mucosal epithelia. It functions as a broad-spectrum effector of innate immunity, disrupting microbial membranes and inhibiting viral replication. Beyond direct killing, DEFA1B acts as an immunomodulator, promoting antigen-presenting cell maturation and inducing proinflammatory cytokine release. It is associated with inflammatory conditions such as periodontitis and preterm premature rupture of membranes. Furthermore, elevated plasma levels of DEFA1B have been identified as a predictor of severe outcomes in infectious diseases like COVID-19, reflecting its role in acute systemic inflammation. |
