| 背景信息 | Oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1 (OLR1), also known as lectin-type oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX-1). This receptor is a member of the C-type lectin superfamily and primarily functions in the recognition and internalization of oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL), which plays a significant role in atherosclerosis. OLR1 is predominantly expressed on vascular endothelial cells, macrophages, and smooth muscle cells, and its expression can be upregulated by various stimuli, including tumor necrosis factor-alpha and shear stress from blood flow. The binding of oxLDL to LOX-1 activates signaling pathways that lead to endothelial dysfunction, monocyte adhesion, and subsequent foam cell formation, which are critical steps in atherogenesis. Additionally, mutations in the OLR1 gene have been linked to increased risks of cardiovascular diseases, such as myocardial infarction, and may influence the risk of Alzheimer's disease. |
