| 背景信息 | Glutathione S-transferase omega 1 (GSTO1) is a cytosolic enzyme that functions as a glutathione-dependent thiol transferase and dehydroascorbate reductase. It plays a vital role in maintaining cellular redox homeostasis and recycling ascorbate, while also participating in detoxification through S-(phenacyl)glutathione reductase activity. Structurally, GSTO1 features a thioredoxin-like N-terminal domain and a C-terminal domain that determines substrate specificity. It is widely expressed and modulates inflammatory signaling pathways in response to oxidative stress. Clinically, genetic polymorphisms in GSTO1 are linked to an altered risk of neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, as well as cardiovascular disease and various cancers, likely due to impaired detoxification and redox regulation. |
