| 背景信息 | Brain abundant membrane attached signal protein 1 (BASP1) is a membrane-bound protein highly expressed in neural tissues that functions as a transcriptional corepressor and tumor suppressor. It undergoes N-terminal myristoylation, which is essential for its membrane attachment and its ability to recruit HDAC1 and prohibitin to the WT1 transcription factor. This complex suppresses target genes involved in development and differentiation. BASP1 also interacts with estrogen receptor-alpha to modulate cellular responses. In many malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia and hepatocellular carcinoma, BASP1 is frequently downregulated via promoter hypermethylation. Its loss promotes cell proliferation, migration, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition through the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. Furthermore, BASP1 is associated with the pathogenesis of Wilms tumor and aortic aneurysms, reflecting its critical role in regulating gene expression. |
