| 背景信息 | SRY-box transcription factor 4 (SOX4), is a member of the SOX family of transcription factors involved in embryonic development and cell fate determination. It acts as a transcriptional regulator by forming complexes with other proteins, such as syndecan binding protein (syntenin). SOX4 plays roles in apoptosis, tumorigenesis, and bone development by mediating effects of parathyroid hormone (PTH) and PTH-related protein (PTHrP). In terms of disease, SOX4 is overexpressed in many human malignancies, contributing to cancer progression through regulation of pathways like TGFβ, Wnt, and Notch. Additionally, SOX4 has been linked to osteoporosis susceptibility through specific polymorphisms. Its expression is also associated with tumor-induced angiogenesis in cancers like breast cancer. |
