| 背景信息 | ARF like GTPase 16 (ARL16) is a small GTP-binding protein of the ARL family that regulates intracellular membrane trafficking and innate immune signaling. It localizes to intracellular membranes and plays a specialized role in Golgi-to-cilia transport, specifically mediating the export of IFT140 and INPP5E to support ciliary function. Additionally, ARL16 acts as a negative regulator of the antiviral response by binding to the C-terminal domain of RIG-I (DDX58) in a GTP-dependent manner, thereby suppressing RNA sensing activity. Although clinical data are emerging, genetic associations link ARL16 to Joubert syndrome 8 and childhood-onset schizophrenia, consistent with its roles in ciliary maintenance and neuronal processes. |
