| 背景信息 | Interleukin enhancer binding factor 3 (ILF3) is a 90 kDa double-stranded RNA-binding protein that typically functions as a heterodimer with NF45 (ILF2). This complex is a versatile regulator of gene expression, influencing T-cell interleukin-2 production, mRNA stability, nuclear-to-cytoplasmic transport, and microRNA biogenesis. ILF3 binds to AU-rich and poly-U elements within the 3'-untranslated regions of target mRNAs, such as MKP-1 and p21WAF1, to enhance their stability and promote cell growth. It also plays a role in circular RNA production by stabilizing flanking introns during back-splicing. During viral infections, ILF3 can relocate to the cytoplasm to modulate innate antiviral responses; however, it is also known to stabilize HIV-1 RNA, facilitating viral replication. The protein primarily localizes to the nucleus and ribosomes, where it interacts with various RNAs and processing factors like DGCR8. |
