| 背景信息 | Secretoglobin family 2A member 2 (Mammaglobin-A) is a small, dimeric, secreted glycoprotein belonging to the secretoglobin superfamily. It shares structural homology with other family members like uteroglobin and is encoded by the SCGB2A2 gene. While its precise physiological function remains under investigation, it is characterized by its highly restricted expression pattern. Clinically, Mammaglobin-A is a well-established and sensitive biomarker for mammary-specific tissues. It is significantly overexpressed in both primary and metastatic breast cancer, making it a valuable tool for the detection of disseminated carcinoma cells and a prognostic indicator in clinical oncology. Additionally, its expression has been associated with parotid gland adenoid cystic carcinoma. Due to its high specificity for breast tissue in clinical samples, it is widely utilized in diagnostic pathology to identify the mammary origin of metastatic tumors. |
