| 背景信息 | Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM), also known as CD166, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It features five extracellular Ig-like domains that mediate both homotypic (ALCAM-ALCAM) and heterotypic (ALCAM-CD6) cell adhesion. ALCAM is anchored to the actin cytoskeleton via its cytoplasmic tail, a link essential for regulating its lateral mobility and adhesive strength. It associates with partners such as CD9 and ADAM17 to facilitate diverse processes, including hematopoiesis, immune cell trafficking, and neural development. ALCAM expression is often restricted to dynamic cell populations and is frequently upregulated in various cancers, where it serves as a marker for tumor progression and metastatic potential. |
