| 背景信息 | Coactosin like F-actin binding protein 1 (COTL1) is a small, evolutionarily conserved protein that plays a dual role in cytoskeletal organization and inflammatory signaling. It binds to F-actin in a calcium-independent manner through its actin-depolymerizing factor homology domain, contributing to the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. Beyond its structural role, COTL1 acts as a molecular chaperone for 5-lipoxygenase (ALOX5), stabilizing the enzyme to enhance the biosynthesis of leukotrienes, such as LTB4. This interaction is critical for innate immune responses and allergic inflammation. COTL1 is ubiquitously expressed but shows its highest levels in hematopoietic cells and immune tissues, reflecting its importance in leukocyte function and pro-inflammatory mediator production. |
