| 背景信息 | Scavenger receptor class F member 1 (SCARF1) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed in endothelial cells. It is characterized by an extensive extracellular domain containing multiple tandem epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domains that form a unique bow-like homodimeric structure. SCARF1 mediates the binding, endocytosis, and degradation of modified low-density lipoproteins, showing a high affinity for oxidized LDL (OxLDL) and acetylated LDL (Ac-LDL). Beyond its role in lipid homeostasis, it functions as a pattern recognition receptor that interacts with bacterial teichoic acids and other exogenous ligands. Through these interactions, SCARF1 contributes to innate immunity, cell adhesion, and the clearance of apoptotic cells, playing a vital role in maintaining vascular and tissue health. |
