| 背景信息 | Splicing factor 3a subunit 2 (SF3A2) is a nuclear protein and a key component of the 17S U2 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein (snRNP) complex within the spliceosome. It forms a functional heterotrimer with SF3A1 and SF3A3, which is essential for the conversion of the 15S U2 snRNP into its active 17S form. SF3A2 facilitates pre-mRNA splicing by recognizing the branch site adenosine during the early stages of spliceosome assembly, ensuring accurate intron removal. Localized primarily to nuclear speckles, the protein contains zinc finger and RNA-binding domains that mediate its interactions with nucleic acids and other splicing factors. While primarily involved in RNA processing, SF3A2 may also play independent roles in microtubule binding and kinetochore interactions during the cell cycle. |
