| 背景信息 | MHC class I polypeptide-related sequence B (MICB) is a membrane-bound, nonclassical MHC class I–related protein that functions as a stress-inducible ligand for the activating receptor NKG2D. Unlike classical MHC I molecules, MICB does not associate with β2-microglobulin or present peptide antigens. Instead, its expression is upregulated by cellular stress, such as heat shock or DNA damage, to trigger cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion in NK cells and CD8+ T cells. MICB plays a significant role in tumor immunosurveillance; however, its proteolytic shedding into a soluble form can down-modulate NKG2D expression, allowing tumor cells to evade immune detection. Polymorphisms and expression levels of MICB are also linked to susceptibility to various infectious diseases and immune-mediated conditions. |
