| 背景信息 | LON peptidase N-terminal domain and ring finger 3 (LONRF3) is a member of the zinc finger protein family characterized by a RING finger domain and a LON peptidase N-terminal domain. The RING finger domain facilitates protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions, while the LON peptidase domain is associated with ATP-dependent peptidase activity. Although its precise physiological roles are still being elucidated, LONRF3 is predicted to participate in ubiquitin-mediated protein degradation or transcriptional regulation based on its structural motifs. The protein exhibits distinct tissue-specific expression patterns, particularly within the brain and various epithelial tissues. Clinically, mutations or deletions involving LONRF3 have been linked to X-linked cleft palate with or without ankyloglossia and other dental anomalies. However, it remains primarily characterized by its conserved peptidase and RING finger domains in current molecular biology databases. |
