| 背景信息 | Dynein axonemal light chain 1 (DNAL1) is a cytoplasmic protein and a critical component of the outer dynein arm within motile cilia and flagella. It facilitates ATP-dependent ciliary beating and regulates beat frequency by tethering the heavy chain DNAH5 to axonemal microtubules. DNAL1 is essential for mucociliary clearance in the respiratory epithelium, sperm flagellar motility, and the determination of the embryonic left-right axis. Clinically, biallelic loss-of-function variants in DNAL1 cause primary ciliary dyskinesia type 16, a disorder characterized by chronic sinopulmonary infections, bronchiectasis, and male infertility due to immotile sperm. Additionally, DNAL1 has been identified as a microtubule-associated host dependency factor for HIV-1 infection. |
