| 背景信息 | BMP2 inducible kinase like (pseudogene) (BMP2KL) is a non-protein-coding genetic element located on the X chromosome. It is a processed pseudogene derived from the retrotransposition of the functional BMP2K gene, which encodes a serine/threonine kinase induced by bone morphogenetic protein 2. Due to the presence of frameshift mutations and premature stop codons, BMP2KL does not produce a functional protein. However, it retains significant sequence homology to the parental BMP2K gene, suggesting potential regulatory functions such as competing for microRNA binding sites or modulating the stability of BMP2K mRNA. While the functional BMP2K gene is known to regulate osteoblast differentiation and skeletal development, the specific physiological impact of the BMP2KL pseudogene remains to be fully elucidated, and no direct clinical associations have been established. |
