| 背景信息 | Meteorin like, glial cell differentiation regulator (METRNL) is a secreted pleiotropic factor expressed in adipose tissue, muscle, and the nervous system. It functions as a neurotrophic factor supporting neuronal survival and neurite outgrowth, and as an adipokine that enhances beige fat thermogenesis and insulin sensitivity. METRNL modulates immune responses by promoting alternative macrophage activation. Its levels are dynamically regulated in metabolic conditions such as obesity and diabetes. Due to its beneficial effects on metabolism and inflammation, METRNL is investigated as a biomarker and therapeutic target for metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular diseases. |
