| 背景信息 | Plexin domain containing 2 (PLXDC2) is a multifunctional transmembrane receptor that mediates diverse signaling pathways essential for tissue homeostasis. It serves as a receptor for pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), contributing to neurotrophic support and antiangiogenic activity. PLXDC2 also acts as a cellular entry receptor for certain viruses, such as the rhesus monkey rhadinovirus. In cancer biology, its overexpression is linked to epithelial-mesenchymal transition and the enrichment of cancer stem cells, particularly in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. Clinically, PLXDC2 is associated with Acrorenal Syndrome and vulva squamous cell carcinoma, while genetic polymorphisms in the PLXDC2 gene have been linked to primary open-angle glaucoma, suggesting a role in ocular neuroprotection. |
