| 背景信息 | C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 17 (CXCL17) is a novel chemokine that plays a role in maintaining homeostasis at mucosal barriers, particularly in the airways and gastrointestinal tract. It is a 119-amino acid protein with six conserved cysteine residues, four of which form the characteristic CXC motif. CXCL17 exhibits chemotactic properties, attracting monocytes, dendritic cells, and neutrophils. It binds to glycosaminoglycans and may modulate the activity of other chemokines. CXCL17 has antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory functions, potentially contributing to innate defense against infections. In disease contexts, CXCL17 has been associated with both protective and pathogenic roles. Increased CXCL17 expression has been linked to progression in pulmonary fibrosis, asthma, and certain cancers, while it may play a protective role in pancreatic cancer, autoimmune encephalomyelitis, and viral infections. |
