| 背景信息 | Coiled-coil domain containing 81 (CCDC81) is a protein predicted to enable DNA binding activity and is located in the centrosome and ciliary basal body. It contains two N-terminal HU domains fused to a C-terminal coiled-coil region, with the eukaryotic versions displaying a tandem duplication of the HU domain within the same polypeptide. CCDC81 is involved in centrosome organization and potentially acts as a cargo-binding protein in conjunction with Dynein-VII. The protein is expressed in various tissues, including the brain, reproductive system, and immune cells. CCDC81 has been associated with genome-wide association studies of eosinophilic esophagitis, suggesting a potential role in allergic diseases. Additionally, alterations in CCDC81 expression have been observed in response to various chemical exposures, indicating its potential involvement in cellular stress responses. |
