背景信息SH3RF1 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that plays important roles in cell death response to apoptotic stimuli and regulation of calcium homeostasis. It is involved in various cellular processes, including the JNK signaling pathway and regulation of NFκB nuclear translocation. SH3RF1 has been implicated in several diseases, particularly cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. In cancer, it has been identified as a regulator of FAT1 cadherin, a protein associated with various cancers. SH3RF1 interacts with FAT1 through its N-terminal SH3 domains and regulates FAT1 protein levels, potentially influencing cancer progression. In neurodegenerative diseases, SH3RF1 has been linked to neuronal migration and regulation of T cell differentiation. Its involvement in immune-related pathways suggests a potential role in the immune component of neurodegeneration, which could have implications for developing new therapeutic strategies or repurposing existing immunotherapies for neurodegenerative diseases.
